Beamer - Another instalment of GM chats is upon us. Today we're hitting up the Shark Tank and chatting with San Jose's GM Mike. Welcome Sir! Question 1.... How do you see your Sharks faring this year in SCD?
Mike - The team itself has a shot in the west.. Between the rebuilding teams and the fact several teams make the playoffs like the chances... Now with that being said... In the latter rounds things could get squirrely.. If I get a good matchup like my chances... If I get the flames early per say.... Not so good for me. Either way could be a thorn and no easy walk..... Got a solid def and goalie to compete.. The offense might be light, but got some cats improved and room for injury bug if it happens...
Beamer - Best part of this year for many teams in SCD is that it'll because short season and anything can happen glad my team gives you the shivers grin Question 2. If you were in elementary school with all 30 other SCD GMs, which ones would you rat out to the teacher for bad behaviour and why?
Mike - I think most wouldnt even know what bad was.... But, lets go with Pens and Canes.. Both might be good and that kind of sneeky quiet that could be a rat... If were looking for a edge to make themselves stand out, id go with wildchild and voodoo... They have the mentality and proudness to be that...
Beamer - I think a few of the GMs here are totally the type to stir things up. I'd rat them all out except for Robby (Avs) and Ray (NYI). They're pretty dignified and have the coolness of The Fonz. Eeeehhhh! Oh and place duncecap on Heller...just because. Question 3. How would you design a spice rack for a blind person?
Mike - In the form of a wheel.. On each lid would be the correct braille wording for them to feel the correct one... If they made a mistake and placed the bottle in wrong spot the feel would assist... The wheel would be limited since a large cumbersome thing would be annoying... But at least they would have the best access to the ones they found most useful.. With a little help they could change spices with others periodically to taste.
Beamer - Man....you put way more thought into than I would have. I would just told them to call a meal delivery company and screw cooking...let alone having cook with spices. Question 4. Would you rather walk around with a salad for a head or broccoli for arms? Explain your answer.
Mike - I like the salad for a head.. The theory is the mixed variety might give you some control with limbs while other times gives you nothing.... The broccoli arms would just limit to almost nothing you could do.. Give me the roll of the dice....
Beamer - And if you are in a crowd people could bow down before you and yell "Hail Caesar!!"...I like it! Like Rodney Dangerfield, poor broccoli never gets any respect. Final question.... Why do you think Charles Chaplin is famous?
Mike - The man was a pioneer for the actors today.. His style of films making you act to get your point across and not use words... He was the major reason actors learned to move and create versus just speaking.. In my opinion the action films of today or recently, can thank him for giving them the backbone of skills used today.. Can you imagine speaking or singing and not putting both together....
Beamer - One hundred percent correct. A huge trailblazer and he is the reason why many actors are successful nowadays due to his work. Welp, that's it for GM chat with Beamer. Best of luck this season to you and the Sharkies Mike.....but not too much luck against the Flames.
