As discussed during the end of the last off-season, we're going to allow for a one time only team franchise team name swap with willing franchise owners. It's not something I really like doing BUT we've had a number of new GMs come aboard in the past year or two and we'd like to give people the chance to GM their favourite team and of course this league is for the enjoyment of all who strut their fantasy GM stuff.
Some guidelines, A GM changing team names will maintain all aspects of their current franchise (cap, players, minors, draft picks, etc..) and can only change to that new franchise if the other GM is willing to take on the swapped franchise moniker.
Eg.
Scenarios:
Boston Bruins GM wants to take on Arizona Coyotes team name. Both GMs agree to swap team names. All assets associated with the Bruins are now "Coyotes assets" and vice versa.
Calgary Flames GM wants to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs team name. The current GM of the Leafs says no -no team name change and that's it.
If there are two teams that want to take on a certain franchise moniker and the GM is willing to change team names, that GM can choose which team he wants to switch to. If he doesn't care, then the GM who's been in SCD the longest gets "dibs" on the franchise name.
Hope this is clear for everyone. Please post in this thread if you're wanting to change franchise names. I'm going to set April 30th as the DEADLINE (10 pm MST) to come to an agreement to do any swaps for franchise name changes. After that, for all future years, this is the team name you're married to (unless the IRL team changes its name/city).
I know of one already (ARZ) that would like to take on SJ and he's been in SCD for a few years already.
For the record, the Calgary Flames are not for sale. Any GM not wishing to change franchises can also put a post in here.
Any questions, please message me directly.
Cheers,
Beamer
